Every summer the Leviathan Pirates plunder and raid the shores of Roanfire. Keatep Brendagger is ready to put those vipers in their place. Raised by a legend, her sword is fast and her skill extraordinary.

But its autumn. Her dream of the Leviathan Pirates obliterating a coastal city is out of place. The most troubling part? The dream features a ruby. It speaks with a thousand voices. It burns like fire. And it wants a sacrifice.

While on assignment, the repeating nightmare intensifies, leaving Keatep with bloody noses and fire burning in her bones. It is more than a dream. It is a curse. Left unchecked, it will destroy her, leave her beloved Roanfire in ashes, and incinerate the world.

With the mounting threat of war with the Leviathan Pirates, Keatep is compelled to set her sword aside and face this curse with nothing but her will to survive.

Filled with action, cunning pirates, forbidden attraction, and a villain unlike any other, The Phoenix Host is an unforgettable tale of heroism, love, and self-sacrifice.

“CK Miller has, hands down, won me over as a fan and I am anxiously awaiting the release of the second book of the Roanfire series!” – Amazon reviewer

“I speed read this book in a couple days and bought the sequel right away! – Amazon reviewer

“Kea is a wonderfully feisty fighter with a warm heart but, for me, this story excelled with the lover/enemy Ikane who leaps, or should I say smoulders, off the page.” – Author Caroline Noe

Incredibly well written. The Phoenix Host is one of those books that continually pulls you to the edge of your seat, relaxes you and then jerks you right back to the edge of your seat.

This book may be classified as a young adult book, but being an adult, I found myself unable to put the book down.

An incredible tale of a brave young girl forced to make tough decisions and grow as a warrior, facing decisions that tear at your heart and physical trials that make your body ache with her. The author's writing style pulls you in to the book, as if you are there as one of the characters. You will feel joy, sadness, anger, despair and almost every other emotion possible right alongside the main character, Keatep Brendagger.

CK Miller has, hands down, won me over as a fan and I am anxiously awaiting the release of the second book of the Roanfire series!

I HIGHLY recommend this book to young adults and adults alike!! I promise you will NOT be disappointed!!
