Since the release of the final book of my Roanfire series, Roanfire Reborn, I’ve been in a strange state of limbo. Some of you know that the characters have been with me for most of my life and ending their stories has been bittersweet. It has taken me quite a few months to find my place as an author again.
That said, I am currently working on not one, not two, but three new projects!
- A new story set in the world of Roanfire, but through the eyes of a character we’ve heard exists but have not truly had the chance to meet. This character is Ikane’s younger brother, Teilo, as he tries to build a new life for himself. I plan to delve deeper into the lives, cultures, and beliefs of the Leviathan pirates. And for fun, a charming little selkie is making her debut. The intent was to keep it a somewhat shorter novel, but we shall see. Hoping to release 2024… but that is a big MAYBE.
I have a handful more stories from other side characters in my head. From Prince Leander of Toleah and Hala Whitefox, to Broderick.
- This one is a bit of a new adventure for me. I have not attempted to write a YA Sci-Fi novel for years. It involves a kidnapping, freerunning/parkour, bio-chips, and a clever herb-loving nut case. This is also a book I intend to co-author with a talented friend of mine, Steph Johnsen. We are in the developmental stages right now.
- This project is one that I’m sure you’ve seen me post about. One that I am really looking forward to, but also one that is very intimidating. Audiobook recordings for the Roanfire series will begin 2024! The sound booth is lovely, thanks to the carpentry skills of my husband. I have much to learn, so please be patient with me.
I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you, fans, family, friends, for all your support through my writing journey. Looking back, I had always dreamed of calling myself a published author, and here I am. It would not be possible without all of you. So, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You!
